Türk Telekom's AI-supported M-NEO platform takes first place in Europe at Gartner Eye on Innovation
M-NEO, which manages energy at mobile base stations with AI, was named first in Europe in the operators category of the Gartner Eye on Innovation Awards.
According to a Türk Telekom statement dated 10 October 2026, M-NEO, a platform that uses AI to manage the energy use of base stations on its own, won first place among European entries in the operators category of the Gartner Eye on Innovation Awards.
Türk Telekom said in a press release on 10 October 2026 that its Mobile Network Energy Management Platform, M-NEO, was named first in Europe in the operators category of the Eye on Innovation Awards, an annual program run by the research firm Gartner. The platform uses AI to adjust energy use at base stations on its own as conditions change.
- The company says the platform was built entirely with national resources, and the release links this to the skills of Turkish engineers and the company's R&D strength.
- The release says M-NEO delivers more than threefold savings in battery use; it does not say how many base stations use the platform.
- Türk Telekom noted that it has come first among European operators in this program twice in three years, winning in 2024 with NOVA ALFA, an AI-supported physical line fault analysis project.
- The company presents the platform as part of its climate vision as a Global Digital Transformation and Technology supporter of COP31.
Why it matters
In infrastructure that must run without interruption, such as telecom networks, energy and battery management can matter for both cost and service continuity. M-NEO can be seen as a domestic example of automating energy decisions with AI across equipment spread over many sites. Turkish companies that operate many field devices, battery banks or generators may find the idea of collecting measurement data and linking it to automatic decisions worth a look. The award and savings figures come from the company's own statement.
