LinkedIn rolls out customisable digital business cards that can be added to a digital wallet
LinkedIn is rolling out a digital business card with a QR code and custom designs for sharing profiles in person, reaching users worldwide over the coming months.
Social Media Today reported on 18 October 2026 that LinkedIn has started rolling out a digital business card option. Users can personalise the card, add it to a digital wallet and share their profile with people they meet in person through a QR code. LinkedIn says the feature will reach users worldwide in the months ahead.
According to a Social Media Today report dated 18 October 2026, LinkedIn is rolling out a digital business card that users design themselves and that others can scan to reach their profile details. Per LinkedIn's announcement, the card can be designed and personalised, saved to a digital wallet and used to keep in touch with people met face to face.
- The sample card shown in the report includes a headshot, the job role description from the profile and a QR code.
- Users can pick between different card designs.
- LinkedIn says worldwide availability will arrive step by step in the months ahead.
- The report does not say which digital wallet apps are supported.
Social Media Today recalls that LinkedIn introduced profile QR codes for in-person connections in 2018, but that version had no custom design options and, in the author's view, never became a widely used connection tool.
Why it matters
For sales teams and business owners who exchange cards at trade fairs, dealer meetings and customer visits, the feature could be an alternative to paper cards that points to an up-to-date LinkedIn profile. Because the sample card in the report takes the role description from the profile, keeping employees' titles and role descriptions current may become more important. The rollout is gradual, so it is not yet clear when the feature will appear for accounts in Türkiye.
