Why it matters
TechNode reported that Feifei Li, who leads Alibaba Cloud's international business, said customer demand is shifting from AI experiments to production use. A new cloud region in Türkiye could widen the options for companies that want to keep data in a data center inside the country or serve their users with lower latency. The services, prices and contract terms for the region are not yet known, so companies should wait for official announcements before making decisions.
- Alibaba Cloud's first region in Türkiye is planned within the next 12 months.
- First regions in Finland and the Netherlands are planned in the same period.
- No investment figure or firm date has been announced for Türkiye.
